JUJU was founded by Julia Junkin, who has been a professional artist for three decades.
Julia’s mission for JUJU is three-fold:
Firstly, to make it easy for anyone to experience the creative process, and to make visual expressions without an artistic background. No muss, no fuss, no fear – just beauty and play!
Secondly, to connect artists with new viewing audiences, and connect the general public to a world of art at their fingertips.
Lastly, to allow artists to develop new revenue streams by licensing and selling their work through the JUJU App. Goodbye barista job, hello more time for creating!
Support From Bijou
Bijou has pinch hit for JUJU on a variety of fronts, but our primary support has been as a door opener and bridge builder for the JUJU team.
We threw JUJU a fantastic launch party in October 2014, and shortly thereafter, we learned that the proposal we wrote for SXSW was accepted. Celebrations all around!
Bijou made introductions between JUJU and the Photoshop mobile team, and arranged meetings for Julia with key potential partners, including the Walker Art Center, Ipsos Girls Lounge, several venture capitalists and journalists covering the art beat.
We have also supported JUJU with behind the scenes assistance, such as helping Julia to get her LinkedIn profile in shape, editing proposals and pitch decks before meetings with VC funders, and assisting with digital communications efforts.
